First time out this year!

It’s official. I went fishing today. I just got back from vegas yesterday  (alive. I know, I’m surprised too) and the first thing I wanted to do was to get some line in the water. We didnt catch anything but we’re going to try again for these elusive shad. I went out with my wife and a friend of mine that doesn’t fish that often and is rather novice (Sorry nick). Fishing with people that don’t get out that often is something I hated at first. If you don’t know how to fish then I’m not going with was my mindset until I got married. Gross, I know. But getting her out there and showing her the ropes and seeing the progress she’s made really gives me pride in something. Might as well take pride in something if I can’t catch anything *it’s ok to laugh at my pain*. I think the reason we didn’t catch anything was because of the great North Carolina weather. Just a week ago the temperatures were up in the 80’s and the high of today was in the low 50’s. Drastic changes in temperature like that affect the water ecosystem more than you would think. Changes in weather can do anything from start the spawn a month eariler than expected, to make it come to a screeching halt.

Hopefully tomorrow will yield better results! I hope you guys liked the read and don’t forget to let me know what you think and share!
